Hair products and salon air ↗

In Taipei hairdressing salons, air pollutant concentrations were significantly higher around the working areas, so hair products were considered their major source, and formaldehyde levels were associated with the number of perming treatments, the number of workers and how often formaldehyde-releasing products were used.

Five salons measured for formaldehyde, volatile organic compounds, carbon dioxide and phthalates; it measures air composition, not odour.
