Across the labelled ingredients of shampoos, hair conditioners, liquid soaps, wet tissues, washing-up liquids and multi-purpose cleaners, 88% of products contained fragrances; linalool, limonene, hexyl cinnamal, butylphenyl methylpropional and citronellol were the most frequent.
Based on ingredient labels and data sheets of products on sale, not on air or odour measurements; the most frequent fragrances are counted across all the product types together, not for each type.
The statement the claim rests on was found word for word in the abstract fetched from the named service, and an editor read the full abstract against every part of the claim. Abstract from Europe PMC (ebi.ac.uk/europepmc).
