How the pilot works
- English is the base language. Every record exists in English; Spanish is optional per record.
- A Spanish page exists only for a smell with a Spanish name. Other smells have no Spanish page and no Spanish hreflang.
- Fields without a Spanish value fall back to English and are labelled as English on Spanish pages.
- A smell has one permanent identifier in every language; localized pages never create new identities.
- Localized names are editorial labels, not evidence. They do not change a smell's evidence class.
